He is known for the variety of instruments he uses in his music, using over 100 different traditional and non-traditional instruments May 2004 in America with his album Night Piece. He creates every aspect of his music, in his recordings. Shugo released his long-awaited 6th full-length album “TOSS” in October 2016 in Japan and it is slated for a worldwide release in early 2017. On Saturday, 11th November 2017 will be the first time of Shugo Tokumaru to play live in Bangkok, Thailand.
