Opera Siam opens its 18th Season with an eye-opening new production of the world's first "rock opera", the trailblazing 1971 JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR which established Andrew Lloyd Webber's reputation. Licensed by Lloyd Webber's company the Really Useful Music Group, the production is conducted by Thailand's conducting wunderkind Trisdee na Patalung. SomtowSucharitkul directs. This is the full-scale "symphony orchestra" version of the three available performing editions, enhanced by a full ensemble of singers and actors, dramatically staged in a production which recreates the imagery of the 1st Century A.D.
 
The three leads will be performed by Pure "The Voice" Ekkapan as Judas, Chaiporn "Pop" as Jesus, and popular jazz songstress Athalie de Koning as Mary Magdalene … plus an ensemble of around 60 and a 60-piece orchestra.
